Sandwiches are a favorite easy meal at my house. I’ve learned a few simple tricks that take this Tri Tip Sandwich from average to extraordinary! You are going to fall in love with every layer of yummy!

A few tips pack this tri tip sandwich with flavor. Mouthwatering! Little Dairy on the Prairie

Summer is winding down. In fact, at my house it looks like the April. It has rained here every day for about two weeks. I’m feeling a little cheated out of my warm summer weather. Oh well, there is nothing I can do about that. Anyway, we grill almost everyday in the summer. Since we are a carnivorous family it works really well for us. I have been wanting a smoker for quite a few year and finally broke down and bought one this summer. I’m in love!

Okay, there are a few simple things you can do to make a tri tip sandwich even better than it already is! Here are a few of my favorites! Little Dairy on the Prairie

One of the first things I attempted to smoke was a tri tip roast. It was pretty tasty! I’m anxious to make another one because I’ve learned a few things since the first few things I smoked. I’m not giving you a tri tip recipe today because I don’t remember exactly what I did to the roast. Anyway, I had a little bit of leftover tri tip and decided to make this amazing sandwich.  You could actually use any roast, (try this Banana Pepper Roast) or even deli roast beef if that’s what you have hanging out in your fridge.

Tri Tip Sandwich

I spread Garlic Herb Butter on my bread and then broiled it. It’s like having a sandwich on garlic bread! Honestly, this is on of the biggest flavor boosters in this sandwich! It’s so yummy and such an easy way to add flavor. Just make sure to use plenty. You want the butter to seep down in all the crevices of the bread! It’s good for you 😉 and it’s good for me when you support the dairy industry. Pile on the cheese and the Garlic Herb Butter ! Can I just say, talking about this tri tip sandwich is already making my mouth water?

Tri Tip Sandwich packed with flavor!

There is something very important  you must always do when making a sandwich, add cheese. My little boys love cheddar, so they got it! I love Swiss, so I got it! Layer cheese on top of the broiled Herb Garlic Buttered Bread. Stick it back under the broiler just until it melts good.

Pile it high with warm thinly sliced tri tip. Use a good quality barbecue sauce. Then add whatever other toppings crank your tractor! I had a few tomatoes and some lettuce growing in my garden so I added those!

I learned a few tricks for making a tri tip sandwich even better! Oh my gosh, I'm in love! Little Dairy on the Prairie

A sandwich that is almost too big to fit in my mouth, and drips all down my hands is what I’m talking about! Tri Tip Sandwiches may be one of my new favorites! Just remember Garlic Herb Butter, lots of cheese and high quality barbecue sauce! You got this!
