Hawaiian Pineapple Hamsteaks

Hawaiian Ham Steaks are so delish!! They have the perfect amount of sweet from the Pineapple Sauce and salty from the ham.  Ham steaks are much quicker to cook than a whole ham. Hams Steaks make for a quick and hearty dinner that the whole family loves.

Hawaiian Ham with brown sugar, butter and vinegar

Heat a large skillet over medium high heat.  Melt butter and dissolve brown sugar, dash of cinnamon and red wine vinegar together.

Hawaiian Ham Steaks

Bring to a gentle boil and let reduce for a couple of minutes.

Hawaiian Ham Steaks with Brown Sugar Sauce

Add ham steaks to the brown sugar sauce.  Keep the heat so that you have a gentle simmer.  Simmer meat in sauce for about 10 minutes.

I like to cut my ham steaks into serving size portions before I cook it.  That way I can trim all of the fat out of the meat.  If I don’t do it before I will have to do it for each of my hooligans after.

Hawaiian Ham Steaks with Brown Sugar and Butter Sauce

Flip over and simmer for about 10 more minutes or until sauce is about the consistency of syrup and coats ham steaks.  Remove steaks from skillet and cover with foil to keep warm.

Pineapple Ham Sauce

Add pineapple, apple jelly, cloves and cinnamon to skillet.  Continue simmering until reduced and thickened.  Serve warm over ham steaks.

Hawaiian Ham Steaks with Pineapple Sauce

A warm and sweet pineapple sauce perfectly tops ham steaks.  It makes an easy weeknight night dinner that is fancy enough to serve to company.

Made this tonight for my hogfarmer hubby and two boys. They thought it was porktastic! My nine year old even helped me make the sauce. The only change was that I had no apple jelly so we subbed apple butter. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Having a hog farmer taste test a pork recipe is the real way to taste test! Glad it was a hit!

You’ll mix it in with the other ingredients in step #1 (brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, etc). I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do!
