Cheesy Pigs in a Blanket Pull Apart Bread is as much fun to make as it is to eat! This recipe is the best of both worlds; cheesy garlic sticks and pigs in a blanket in one super tasty monkey bread! It’s an ultimate party food or appetizer that’s sure to be a hit no matter where you take it!

Thanks to Rhodes for sponsoring this post. As always, all opinions are my own. #Rhodes #frozendough

I’ve teamed up with Rhodes Rolls to bring you a fun new Monkey Bread, or Pull Apart Bread, recipe every month this year! That’s right! You’re going to get twelve scrumptious twists on monkey bread! I’m now day dreaming about monkey bread whenever I’m driving, showering, jogging, and trying to fall asleep! My dreams are delicious!

What ingredients do I need to make Cheesy Pigs in a Blanket Pull Apart Bread?

Making monkey bread is so easy to do and you really don’t need very many ingredients or kitchen equipment! Now that’s my kind of recipe!

I always use Rhodes frozen dough to make monkey bread or pull apart bread as some people call it. Rhodes rolls taste like you’ve made your own bread dough without all the hassle. For this recipe I thaw a loaf of Rhodes Frozen White Bread in the fridge overnight. The next morning, I let it sit on the countertop until it’s doubled in size. Then it’s ready to use. It couldn’t be easier!

The recipe is easy to adjust if you’d like to make enough for a crowd or just a few for smaller families. If you’re only making a few pigs in a blanket you could easily thaw Rhodes Frozen Dinner Rolls and use those instead.

I always use beef Little Smokies because they’re my favorite. You could use other varieties if you’d like.

What cooking tools do I need to make Cheesy Pigs in a Blanket Pull Apart Bread?

  • A baking dish – Adjust the size of the dish for different quantities. I use a long skinny bread loaf pan {Amazon Affiliate Link} and it works great.
  • A rolling pin – I like this marble one {Amazon Affiliate Link}
  • A pastry mat – optional but once you have it you’ll use it over and over again. I us a canvas pastry mat  {Amazon Affiliate Link}

How do I assemble Cheesy Pigs in a Blanket Pull Apart Bread?

Roll the dough out until its in a rectangle about 9 x 12-inch rectangle. You don’t need to be exact.

Cut dough into about 36 rectangles. Again, you don’t need to be super exact. My mom would measure, I eye balled it. Each piece needs to be about and inch or so, by about 2 ½ inches.

Roll dough around the little smokies and set them standing on end in the loaf pan.

Let them rise for about 15 minutes.

Bake for 15-20 minutes. Baking time will vary a little depending on the size of your baking dish. If it’s thicker to the middle, you’ll need extra time.

Brush with garlic butter. Then sprinkle with cheese.

Return to oven and bake for 5 more minutes.

What to serve with Cheesy Pigs in a Blanket Pull Apart Bread?

My kids are dunkers! They’ll eat pretty much anything if they can dunk it in sauce. It’s a little magic trick! I made mustard sauce to go with this monkey bread. Here are a few other options.

  • Ranch Dressing
  • Dilly Dip and Dressing
  • Chipotle Dip
  • Ketchup
  • Barbecue Sauce
  • Mustard Dipping Sauce
  • Marinara

I was really debating whether I should save this recipe for fall when tailgating is super important, and the holidays are right around the corner. Because you know this is the ultimate football food, and it’s great for all those holiday parties too!

Then I decided watching basketball is a big deal right now too. And basketball parties deserve plenty of snacks! So, there you have it…I’m not holding out on you! I think you’ll love this pull apart bread as much as we do. How could you not with all that cheese!

    I would like to know if the Cheesy-pigs-in-a-blanket pull apart bread can be made the night before, refrigerated and then baked the next morning?

      I’ve never tried making this particular monkey bread recipe as an overnight bread, but I think it should work just fine. I would assemble the bread then cover it with plastic wrap (sprayed with nonstick spray) then stick it in the fridge overnight. You might need to increase the baking time a few minutes if it has been refrigerated. Let me know how it works!
