Jalapeno Popper Turnovers

Mini Jalapeno Popper Turnovers have the classic flavors of crispy bacon, shredded cheese, spicy jalapenos, and cream cheese all wrapped up in a tender and flaky puff pastry turnover! They're a portable appetizer that's perfect for game days, or any party!

Ingredients

  • 1 box Puff Pastry Sheets room temperature
  • 8 oz pkg Cream Cheese room temperature
  • 1 c. Bacon cooked and diced
  • 1 1/2 c. Cheddar Cheese shredded
  • 9-10 whole Jalapenos diced
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 c. Water

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a two baking sheets with parchement paper. Set aside.
  • Wear gloves to avoid getting burned.
    Cut jalapenos in half and remove membranes and seeds. If you'd like to make the peppers milder you add them to boiling water for 3-4 minutes. 
    Dice peppers.
  • Mix cream cheese, diced peppers, diced bacon, and shredded cheese together. Set aside.
  • Roll Puff each sheet of pastry to about a 12" x 12" square. Cut each sheet into nine squares.
  • Add a spoonful of cream cheese mixture on to one corner of each pastry square. 
  • Whisk egg and add cold water to make egg wash. Brush a little bit of egg wash along two edges of each pastry square. Fold the opposite side of square over filling to make a triangle. Pinch edges together. Using the back of a fork press edges to make sure they are sealed.
  • Place turnovers on prepared baking sheet. Brush tops with additional egg wash.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
