Roast Beef Sliders with Hawaiian Rolls

Roast Beef Sliders are piled high with shredded roast beef and plenty of melted cheese on a soft Hawaiian roll. Brush a buttery sauce over the buns and bake to golden brown perfection! They're slightly crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside!

Ingredients

For the Sliders

  • 1 pkg 12 count King's Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
  • 2 cups shredded roast beef
  • 12 slices American cheese
  • 3 Tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder or garlic paste

Butter Sauce

  • 4 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds or sesame seeds

Optional (for garnish after baking)

  • 1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes optional
  • 2 Tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350℉. Spray a 9x13 inch pan with cooking spray, or line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Lining the pan with parchment paper makes it easy to remove the cheesy roast beef sliders to a cutting board to cut after baking.
  • Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half lengthwise using a serrated knife so the top half is one slab and the bottom half is another.
  • Add the mayo sauce. Mix the mayo and garlic powder. Slather it over the bottom half of the rolls.
  • Add roast beef and cheese. Layer the roast beef and cheese over the sauce. Cover with the top buns.
  • Brush with butter sauce. Melt butter in a small bowl in the microwave. Add brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Whisk to combine. Brush the butter mixture over the top of the rolls. It’s a generous amount of butter sauce and that’s a good thing! Sprinkle with poppy seeds if you’d like. (You can also melt the butter in a small saucepan.)
  • Bake. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for 5 more minutes. (To be honest, I forgot to cover my sliders when I put them in the oven. I baked them uncovered for about 20 minutes, then covered and finished baking. They are a little too done for my liking, but they were still delicious.)
  • Rest, cut, serve. Let rest for a couple of minutes (this helps keep the layers of roast beef in place). Move to a cutting board and cut the sliders into individual sandwiches.
  • Garnish the sliders with parsley and parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

Cheese: It's easy to substitute different kinds of cheese for this recipe. Cheddar, mozzarella, provolone, pepper jack, Colby jack, and Swiss are all great options!
Roast Beef: You can easily use sliced deli roast beef instead of shredded roast beef.
Leftovers: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or in the freezer for up to a month. Reheat in the microwave or bake in the oven at 325 degrees until heated through. Baking in the oven will give the sliders a crispier top.
Servings: Nutritional facts are for one slider. My boys usually eat 2 sliders per serving.
