This week is going to be a super busy one here on the little dairy. Since last week was spring break, and beautiful weather, I couldn’t talk myself into doing any book work. ( Sorry to all the vendors that I owed money to on April 1st. It is the weather’s fault.) Now this week I am behind in the little dairy book keeping. Today the vet was here and so I had to prepare reports for him. Tomorrow is pay day on the little dairy, and I can’t be late with the employees. Besides all of that we are cramming piano lessons, piano festival, mutual, a scout pow wow, a basketball party, a photography class, two EMT classes and Justin’s overnight EMT test. Wish us luck!
As you might imagine this week I will be needing some fast and easy meals that will be ready for whom ever whenever. And since I really try to make eating one meal together everyday a priority, I might get a little frazzled. I decided to rely on one of my favorite cure all’s. I’m sure you will find that this “not recipe” treat will help you with your hectic schedule too.
This “not recipe” has options. So you can make it fit your mood for the day.
Then you put it in the freezer. And very importantly, you set the timer for 1 hour and 15 minutes. The next step is also very important. You tell the kids that if they help clean really good, when the timer goes off you will let the go to the basement and play. That way nobody has to know about the slushy sodie. And you won’t have to share. Ha ha! Store it in the freezer between sips! Just in case the kids come upstairs to use the potty. Or the man in charge of the little dairy comes home and steals it. (Oh ya, and eating some of that ice cream will help too. Maybe mix it with the sodie.)
One day when Carson was about this size he did something that he knew he was going to get in trouble for.
He immediately went to the sodie stash and chose the perfect kind. He brought it in the house and put it in the freezer. Then he came to me and asked me to close my eyes. “Come here” he said, “I have a surprise for you if you promise not to get mad at me”. I forgave him. That’s what we are supposed to do right.
I’m planning to post a real “quick and easy” recipe tomorrow!!
