Instead of writing a traditional Christmas card and trying to write a paragraph about each member in my family I asked them to sit by me and tell me what they wanted me to type about them. I typed word for word as they were talking! So, this is straight out of their mouths! Enjoy The run on sentences and scatter brained paragraphs!
This has been a busy year. Last January our dairy was accepted on a pasture program with our milk processor which meant we built lots of fences, moved animals, and lots of other work. We bought a piece of ground so we could let our heifers and dry cows have more space to live. The ground was bare and we had to build fences, install waters, and get it ready for them. It was about more work than we could handle, but we did finally finish it up. We are glad to have that behind us and hope this year is a little less stressful. Ummm, take the umm out. The boys are growing and are very good help on the farm. I can rely on them to do anything and help me get my work done. I’m really going to miss them when they are gone. I’m currently serving in my church helping teach adults. In June, we went on a 160 mile bike ride over 4 days. My lovely wife talked us into going. It was a lot of work but gave us a sense of accomplishment in the end. My favorite things to do are spend time with my boys, taking my hot wife on dates, and doing anything with my family…work and play. I still volunteer as an EMT and work with a great group of people. My family is very supportive of this volunteer work. I hope everybody has a happy holiday season and a great New Year! Don’t forget to eat lots of cheese!
Hmmmm! What should I say about myself? I pretty much spend all of my time either blogging, doing farm books, and chasing my children around. I should let you know, because there is no way my boys would mention it, all three of my boys are still taking piano lessons and they are actually getting decent to listen to! It seems like the daily grind, homework, piano, cooking, cleaning, laundry, and all that stuff, consumes my life. This year I did talk my family, except Payson, into going on a bicycling trip to Northern Idaho and it was so fun! I’m pretty much the only one who would call it fun but I’d sign up again tomorrow! We carried everything we would need for 4 days on our bicycles! It was such a blast! The farm is busier than ever and I love going out to “help” on nice summer days! I love gardening, cooking, and exercising! I wish I could spend more time with my boys, but that would me I would spend more time in the cab of a semi-truck, swather, or tractor and I seem to get my fill of time in the tractor driving it myself! I think working must be our favorite thing in the world to do because working pretty much sums up our lives!I feel very blessed to be surrounded by these boys that make life an adventure. They are constantly making me giggle, and proud, and happy! Life is good!
This year has been a pretty good year. I’ve made pretty good grades. I’m a junior in high school. I enjoy mechanicing, team roping, and welding, and driving truck. This year I have traded a lot of vehicles. I bought a 88 Buick LeSabre, I sold my 83 Chevy Blazer. I started team roping in the winter in an indoor arena. I used to go on dates a lot. Then everybody in my class paired up and I don’t want to have a girlfriend because I watch my friends get bossed around by their girlfriends and it looks like no fun. They can’t even hunt anymore because their women say so. Every night that I get extra time I like going spotlighting to shoot rabbits. I work for my dad. He has me do anything and everything that needs done. My favorite jobs are driving truck, welding, and farming. I don’t really like working with the cows. I’ve had to fill in on a few shifts milking cows this year but my dad pays me really good to do that. During Thanksgiving I learned how to make apple pie and now I’m better at it than my mom except I don’t think I could make one by myself. I like to go on walks with my mom so I can tell her all about engines the whole time!
Ummm, I am in 8th grade. Don’t put ummm. Hahaha! I get really good grades I almost have a 4.0 but I have to work really hard at it. I don’t like school because it’s so much work. I started my own business selling stuff to kids. It’s a good money maker. I like to save all my money. I like to work and when I get some free time I like to shoot guns and reload bullets and I went deer hunting this year. I went to scout camp for a whole week and it was good. I drive the swather in the summertime. I like to build stuff, I like to build things like targets and stands and make ropes. I exercise quite a bit so I don’t get fat. I like to shoot my bow and arrows and I like to ride my snowmobile. I started tying flies for fly fishing awhile ago and I really like it. I want to learn how to make jerky. I like listening to country music. I like to read my scriptures every night and being a holy man.
I am an intelligent man and I like bull riding. I love all things about rodeo. I’m in 4th grade this year and it is terrible because sitting inside all day is crummy. I played football this year and was a lineman and weigh 96 pounds. I have a crush on a girl and get a smile on my face when you talk about her. I bought two calves from my dad for $25 a piece, if you don’t believe ask my dad. Their names are Bodacious and Girly. They are fluffy and I talk to them everyday and ask them how the weather forecast is. I want to ask my dad to give me an employee for Christmas so they can do my chores! I have a horse named Sorrely and she is a friend of mine. I am an animal lover. Ummm, as soon as Bodacious gets bigger we are going to eat him. Before we eat him I want Bodacious to breed Girly so she will have a baby. I have a little puppy named Ol Son. It’s been a good year.
We wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and splendid New Year! I appreciate each that live near and far. Your friendship fills our lives with love and happiness! Thanks to all of you that take time to stop by this little blog of mine and see what we are up to on the farm and what I’m up to in the kitchen!
