This little man wasn’t thrilled that we had to go outside and work over spring break. But since our little dairy is a little dumpy dairy I decided that we should spruce the place up. During the break we loaded one dump truck all the way full of farm garbage. We also loaded a flat bed trailer full of scrap metal to take to the salvage yard. We took the metal in and sold it yesterday. The kids are now excited that they have $423 more saved towards their Disneyland trip.
After we cleaned
all some of the trash and metal out we started raking all the “humble” weeds. That’s what my baby calls tumble weeds. And please don’t tell him the truth about how to say it. Because I think its cute.
After the big boys told this baby that he could be on fire patrol he cheered right up. Being the boss of the one man fire patrol would make anyone’s day better.
Since Branson did the most raking he thought he should win the rights to start the weeds on fire. It’s a happy day when your chest is hairy enough to be the fire starter. It’s a much anticipated day.
And it is a really happy day when your children are old enough to man the fire. And the daddy-o can lean on the rake and pretend like he is a government worker. Spring break was fun. I loved being able to spend time outside with the boys. We sang lots of songs at the top of our lungs. We watched Carson make his belly jiggle when he blows the air compressor on it. And it doesn’t hurt that the little dairy looks better too.
