I swore I would never do two things, live in the bitterness of Eastern Idaho or marry a dairy farmer. You guessed it. I did both of them. And I love my perfectly stinky life. My family lives on our family owned dairy in Monteview, Idaho. We have about one thousand milking cows. I love being able to raise our family in the agricultural industry. They are learning to be responsible and stick with a job until it is done. Most of all I am glad that they get to spend so much time at work with their dad. Even though their dad is stinky all the time I adore him. I truly love living on this “little dairy on the prairie”.
My days are filled with chasing three wild boys around. They are free-range boys who provide me with endless hours of entertainment and laughing. I am outnumbered by boys and often call my life “my man party”. One of the reason’s I started blogging is because I wanted to journal all of their sayings and happenings. The boys are very responsible help with the daily farm chores. They love fishing, shooting guns (pretend and real), eating, playing with fire and driving anything with a motor. I’m attempting to refine them just a tiny bit by forcing them to use their manners (which they call mom’s manners) and take piano lessons. It’s not working!! I’m sure you will enjoy being a part of my “man party” too.
Chances are if you walked into my house you would find the wash machine going, dessert in the oven and me sweeping my floors. Creating delicious food for my family is my favorite hobby. I love beef, cheese, butter, chocolate and think you should too. First of all they are so delish. And second of all, I make money when you eat butter, milk, cream and cheese. And who doesn’t like money? In my opinion, dessert is the most important meal of the day. And that’s where I always start. I have tricked myself into thinking that if I have a great snack or meal for my men that they will know how much I love them. Cooking is a way for me to be creative and artistic. I love meal time when we can all sit down and catch up with each other. I have many childhood memories of sitting around the table and visiting.
I’m excited to start sharing a little piece of our life with you. I hope that you will find some joy in my “man party”. I also hope you get an idea from this blog that will become one of your family favorites.
