Ingredients
  • 1 box Red Velvet cake mix
  • 1 egg
  • ½ c. butter, softened
  • 4 oz. sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 c. white chocolate chips
  • ½ c. chopped almonds

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease a 9 x 9″ pan.
  3. Mix cake mix, egg and butter together.
  4. Divide dough in thirds. Press ⅔ of the dough in the bottom of the pan.
  5. Bake for 6 minutes
  6. Drizzle sweetened condensed milk on top of baked crust. Sprinkle chocolate chips and walnuts over sweetened condensed milk.
  7. Drop remaining ⅓ cake dough over the sweetened condensed milk layer. The dough is a little sticky and hard to place. I use my fingers to try and smooth it out as best as I can. It’s okay if it doesn’t completely cover the sweetened condensed milk layer. It will fill in as it bakes.
  8. Bake for an additional 20-23 minutes.

I am going to make these for Dad to share on Valentines Day. I might try using milk chocolate chips instead of the white chips just to see what it tastes like.

I would way rather be home for dinner on Valentines Day, so if you have any good main dish ideas for this holiday let me know.

  2. We made these and they are so good and easy! Next time I make it, I will double the recipe–that way I can use the whole bag of chocolate chips, and pretty much the whole can of sweetened condensed milk, and I won’t have left overs. Thanks for sharing this one!

    • What a great idea to double the batch! We were fighting over the last few anyway! I found a squeezable bottle of sweetened condensed milk in the Hispanic section at the grocery store. I love it because I can measure out and only use what I need! Although I must admit that I never have a hard time getting rid of extra sweetened condensed milk or chocolate chips!!
