Farmer Water Park (Homemade Water Slide)

Homemade water slides are just as much fun to make as they are to play on! When you let the kids make their own it takes them longer too! It’s twice the fun!

Last week I took my two youngest to swim lessons. When we go we camp near the pool for a week. Since I don’t have any desire to become a “camping family”, we rent a camper.  I was busy loading all the “stuff” in the camper and my littlest boy was entertaining himself. When I asked him why he was dragging out all of this junk he quickly responded, “Dad said I could”!  That was the green light he was looking for to make a homemade water slide!

Although I can’t say I was excited he was making such a mess on a busy day, I love him learning to build things. He quickly learned he needed a something to keep grandmas tarp from sliding down the hill. That’s when screwdrivers come in handy. Since he isn’t tough enough to push it down into the dirt he had use a hammer too! Don’t you love boys that know how to solve problems using tools? Me too!

I have to tell you, this boys gets plenty to eat. He also love running around and riding bikes that’s why you can see his ribs! He is in his undies because I was packing his swim trunks in the camper for swim lessons. I wasn’t about to unpack them, let him wear ’em, and wash them! Notice the red duct tape! Every project at my house includes duct tape!

He even got the soap for washing the pigs at fair time and spread it all over the tarp so he could slide better. Crazy boy!

I knew sooner or later it would happen! Running isn’t as fun as driving! Here’s the duct tape in action. He used it to try and patch the holes in grandmas tarp!

Riding isn’t as fun as standing and riding! Remember, Dad told him it was okay to do this!

The best of all is having somebody else pull you with the go cart while you try to ride the snow board down the hill. I’m telling you, I don’t know where my kids get their imaginations. I’m okay with it though. To me, this whole “homemade water slide” thing tells me he is thinking and figuring things out. I love that! Honestly, he was out of my hair the whole time I was loading the camper and…he cleaned the whole thing up (with a little persuading)!

Trust Payson. I think he should patent his farmer slide, mass produce it and make a fortune. He could probably even afford to throw in a roll of red duct tape just for ordering his product.

Sliding outside looks like way more fun than being stuck in the house all day playing video games.

It is so cool little Payson figured all of this out by his “big self.” Way to go Payson.
